“Whales of Iceland” located in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland is the largest whale exhibition of its kind in the world. On display are 23 life-size models of the whale species that have been seen in Icelandic waters. Even the leviathan of the sea, the BLUE WHALE, is in full size–nearly the length of a basketball court!
A great way to learn about whales and see their splendid diversity!
Inside you will find a huge hall with whales all around. You get a feeling that you have been taken deep inside the blue sea and can have a sudden realisation that they would come alive anytime! So real were those gigantic life-sized mammals. There were interesting facts, interactive exhibits.
All of the staff were very helpful and friendly, taking time to chat to customers. There is a even a Tea and coffee shop where snacks and other beverages are available.
Indeed, there is hardly a better way to learn about whales than to see them for just what they are – large, interesting and beautiful.
