PLANETARY ALIGNMENT – GULF DAILY NEWS
PLANETS PARADE, Bahrain
From Bahrain out of the 6 planets only 4 could be visible with the naked eyes – MARS, JUPITER, SATURN, and VENUS. Uranus and Neptune can only be seen through the telescope.
If you look towards the south Jupiter will be right overhead. Mars will be in the left corner of the eye. Venus and Saturn on the right located close together.
This is a single shot captured with a fish-eye lens (180 degree coverage) from Manama overlooking the cityscape at app. 7 PM.
At this time the distance of the planets from Earth were (approximate):
MARS – 97.5Million Kms
JUPITER – 658 Million Kms
SATURn – 1.55 Billion Kms
VENUS – 89 Million Kms
The beautiful constellation ORION is clear on the left and also the brightest star SIRIUS below left.
PLEIADES the star cluster (seven sisters) is visible to the right side of Jupiter.
